Export & Copy
Export a meeting summary or transcript, or copy its plain text for quick sharing.
Export & Copy
Use Export in a meeting's top bar to save its summary or transcript in a file format that suits where it needs to go. Use Export As to choose a format, or copy the current content as plain text without creating a file.
Quick start
Open the meeting you want to share.
Select Export in the top bar, then choose Export As.
Choose the summary or transcript output, select a location in the save dialog, and save the file.
Select Open in the success message to reveal the exported file in its folder.
Output options
| Output | Format | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Markdown | .md | Pasting into Markdown-aware tools, wikis, or repositories. |
| Word | .docx | A styled document with headings, tables, and paragraphs. |
.pdf | A print-ready summary. The summary language can determine the font used for export, but is not written into the PDF as metadata. | |
| Copy to Clipboard | Plain text | Quickly pasting the summary into another application. |
| Output | Format | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Plain Text | .txt | Archiving or text processing with timestamps and speaker labels. |
| Word | .docx | Reviewing a formatted transcript with timestamps and speaker attribution. |
| Copy to Clipboard | Plain text | Quickly pasting the transcript into another application. |
Exporting a summary
Open Export, then choose Export As from the summary section.
Choose Markdown, DOCX, or PDF.
Confirm the filename and location in the save dialog. When available, the dialog starts from a meeting-related location.
Save the file. The success message includes Open, which reveals the file in its folder.
Exporting a transcript
Open Export, then choose Export As from the transcript section.
Choose TXT or DOCX.
Confirm the filename and location in the save dialog, then save the file.
Use Open in the success message to reveal the file in its folder.
Copying plain text
Select Copy to Clipboard in either output section. Meetily copies plain text, so you can paste it into email, chat, notes, or any other application.
The copy icon changes to a checkmark briefly to confirm the copy.
File naming
Meetily suggests a filename from the meeting title. You can change it before saving.
| Content | Filename pattern | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Summary (Markdown) | {meeting-title}-summary.md | q1-planning-summary.md |
| Summary (DOCX) | {meeting-title}-summary.docx | q1-planning-summary.docx |
| Summary (PDF) | {meeting-title}-summary.pdf | q1-planning-summary.pdf |
| Transcript (TXT) | {meeting-title}-transcript.txt | q1-planning-transcript.txt |
| Transcript (DOCX) | {meeting-title}-transcript.docx | q1-planning-transcript.docx |
If a meeting has no title, Meetily uses a summary or transcript filename based on its meeting ID.
